The Perfect Life

Setting the scene - The Chapel Café	Light shines through a stained-glass window and illuminates a chair on a table

Production Designer | Stage | 2026

A warm, funny and deeply honest Australian musical about four women navigating the beautiful contradictions of modern womanhood: ambition and exhaustion, desire and duty, love and loss – and the friendships that carry them through it all.

The Perfect Life is a celebration of the stories we don’t post: the bathroom-floor doubts, the unexpected joy, and the fierce loyalty that lasts when everything else shifts.

Bec Francis’ set and prop design functions almost as a fifth character. Static, it is transformed through inventive and evocative use of projections within window spaces, creating a strong sense of time passing and lives unfolding. It is elegant, economical, and beautiful.
